About us

Introducing Roy Hubbard Motors: A Legacy of Automotive Excellence

In 1980, Roy Hubbard embarked on a remarkable journey by establishing Roy Hubbard Motors, in the market town of Market Harborough, Leicestershire. This venture marked a return to his family’s roots in the automotive industry, as they had previously operated a garage in Lubenham, situated on the very site where the now demolished Badger Brothers garage once stood. Roy’s extensive experience, including his previous employment at Jaguar and ownership of an accessory shop in Market Harborough town centre, laid a strong foundation for his new enterprise.

A few years after its inception, Roy Hubbard Motors welcomed a new member to its team – myself, Graham Packer. Joining as an apprentice, I had the privilege of working alongside accomplished mentors, Gary Titchmarsh and Roy himself. The challenges and the engaging work environment of the workshop made my experience truly fulfilling.

With the relentless advancement of vehicle technology, it became increasingly evident that specialised training was necessary to keep pace with the rapid changes. Recognising this, Roy charted a path for Roy Hubbard Motors that would shape its future.

In 1984, we joined forces with Bosch:-

– participating in their cutting-edge automotive Jetronic scheme. This marked the beginning of a training programme that continues to this day, ensuring our team remains at the forefront of automotive expertise.

As technology evolved and grew more complex, our focus shifted towards diagnostics and programming. This transition demanded the acquisition of new tools and equipment to effectively meet the challenges posed by the industry’s technological advancements.

Our passion for innovation and continuous improvement mirrors the ever-evolving automotive industry, which has now reached mind-boggling heights. In recent years, we have witnessed a transformative facelift for our business, accompanied by substantial investments in state-of-the-art tools and equipment. Furthermore, we have had the pleasure of welcoming new talented members to our team.

By becoming a part of the Autocare programme,

-which supports the approved garages scheme, we formed a partnership with Europe’s largest automotive buying and support group. This strategic alliance has also earned us the prestigious motor codes approved garage status.

Looking ahead, the future of Roy Hubbard Motors promises to be one of continued growth and excellence. Our commitment to maintaining the high standards for which we are known, combined with our status as a leading independent garage in the region, will undoubtedly drive us forward.

With every passing year, Roy Hubbard Motors will steadfastly pursue new heights, embracing technological advancements, and cementing our position as a trusted automotive destination for our valued customers.

Meet ‘The Engine Room’

.. our ‘fabulous’ (sometimes?) Roy Hubbard’s team:

Graham Packer

Graham

Graham's 'the boss', owner, MD and chief technician of the business. He's also 'director of operations' (because his staff say he can be!) He's very knowledgeable and highly skilled in his trade, but also approachable and customer friendly. Graham's permanently on 'a diet', although he can never resist a nice bacon sarny!

Karen

Karen

Karen's in charge of the money, highly efficient with the accounts and the financial running of the business. Always keen to keep customers happy, she can also occasionally be seen helping out on the Reception Desk, particularly at busy times or for holiday relief. If however you 'can't find her', she'll probably be on a 'day off'!

Robin Keightly

Robin

Robin's earned the accolade of being 'part of the furniture', - his long service on the Reception Desk, along with his efficiency and loyalty to RHM, has made him a highly valued member of the team. And if you want anything, just remember he can easily be bribed with a packet of crisps or a bar of chocolate!

Olly Vasey

Olly

Olly 'loves his Hondas' and is a highly skilled mechanic and technician with more than 10 years of loyal service with RHM. He joined the company as an apprentice as a 'quiet, shy young lad' - which is hard to believe, 'cause now, if you can't find him, you'll certainly hear him coming!

Ethan

Ethan

Ethan (or as he is also known as 'Steve', but nobody quite knows why!) He may be the newest and youngest member of the technician's team, but is equally competent and skilled. He just 'gets on with the task' but unlike Olly (for example), he is a much quieter character - in fact, sometimes you might not even know he's there!

Hayley Hutchinson

Hayley

Hayley is our ever 'welcoming receptionist' - efficient and always with a cheerful smile, (despite having to work with Graham and Robin!) When not at work, she loves riding horses - that is, when she can stay on them long enough!

Sue Wenlock

Sue

Sue is usually to be found managing the Reception office at the MOT Centre of Complete Auto Solutions. Always friendly and efficient, she's very good with customers and she keeps the boys in order! She loves her job but with a passionate hobby, she'd probably prefer to be on a golf course somewhere!

.

Antony Prince

Antony

Antony is another long serving skilled member of the technician's team, joining the company as an apprentice back in 2006. Antony now heads up and manages the MOT Centre for the subsidiary 'Complete Auto Solutions' division. Highly efficient and respected, but if by chance you can't find him, try looking by the sandwich van!

Peter Bromley

Brom

Peter (aka 'Brom'') is an even longer serving employee, with more than 25 years loyal service to his name. He's originally a BMW trained mechanic and particularly proficient with all older makes of cars and motor bikes. Always popular with his colleagues, because they know if they can't find something - Brom is probably using it!

charlie

Charlie

Charlie is the newest team member and is a valued technician, already showing his multiple skills at The Complete Auto Solutions and MOT Centre of the company. Charlie may 'still be smiling', because we're still getting to know his characteristics, but watch this space!

At Roy Hubbard Motors, we truly value our exceptional team members who are the driving force behind our success. Their unwavering commitment and camaraderie are highly regarded and deeply appreciated. We are confident that they will go above and beyond to provide you with outstanding service, but if there’s any part of our service that hasn’t met your expectations, please let us know. We genuinely care about your satisfaction and if possible will make every effort to accommodate your desires. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we strive to continuously improve and tailor our services to your liking.
